The VSGA Club Championship is set for Hermitage Country Club’s Manakin Course in central Virginia. One of the most tradition-laden VSGA championships, golfers have the opportunity to carry on the rich tradition of this event that dates all the way back to 1939.
If you are a member of a VSGA member club or facility, please take time to get your three-person team together and play golf in this exciting state championship at one of the premier clubs in the commonwealth.
The Manakin Course at Hermitage was renovated by golf course architect Keith Foster and features all-bentgrass. Additionally, the classic look has been retained at the layout, making for a very enjoyable round of golf.
The VSGA Youth Championship at Independence Golf Club is a fun event and open to boys and girls, ages 13-and-under. This day is not about scores; it’s really a chance for juniors to get into the game in a friendly environment. Players ages 10-13 play 18 holes per day on the Championship course. Junior golfers, ages 9-and-under, play a friendly yardage on the club’s Sawyer Short Course.
Past experiences have shown that the event is really a treat for junior golfers and their parents. There’s also a friendly putting contest. If you know a youth who has not played, we encourage you to mention this event to them because it truly is a great way to participate in the game without being intimidated.
The VSGA is truly dedicated to keeping the Youth Championship fun for all golfers. |
