Initiative provides a forum for the youths of Virginia to play, learn the Rules of Golf and etiquette and develop a love of the game.

MIDLOTHIAN –– After a very successful start in 2008 in which more than 350 junior golfers took part in the program, the VSGA Junior Golf Club is again set to provide a forum for youths of Virginia to play, learn etiquette and the Rules of Golf and provide an opportunity to develop a love for the game for the remainder of their lives.

Mission of the VSGA Junior Golf Club
The VSGA Junior Golf Club has been established to provide an opportunity for youths in Richmond, Williamsburg and Tidewater to play learn etiquette and the Rules of Golf and develop a love for the game for the remainder of their lives.

The goals of the VSGA Junior Golf Club are multifold:

(1) Encourage juniors of all skill levels (beginner, novice, intermediate and advanced) to gain an appreciation for the game, its traditions, ideals and rules. (Each junior must have his / her own golf clubs and bag.)

(2) Create competitive opportunities for advanced junior golfers.

(3) Have fun!

VSGA Junior Golf Club Member Benefits
The VSGA Junior Golf Club non-refundable annual membership fee includes the following:

·        Opportunities for Richmond, Williamsburg and Tidewater area boys and girls to play in:

-         Approximately 10 junior events (18 holes in the Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach / Portsmouth areas) open to boys and girls, 12-18 years of age.

-         Approximately 19 youth events (nine holes in the Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach / Portsmouth areas) open to boys and girls, ages 13-and-under.

-         VSGA championships (if other eligibility criteria is met).

-         VSGA one-day events (if playing with an adult – see VSGA One-Day rules and policies).

·        An official VSGA/USGA Handicap Index.

·        VSGA Junior Golf Club towel.

·        VSGA Junior Golf Club bag tag (if available).

·        A complimentary subscription to Virginia Golfer magazine.

VSGA Junior Golf Club Membership Packets

Once the VSGA receives a properly executed application, including the $30 non-refundable annual membership fee, a membership packet with a schedule of events, entry form and more information will be sent to each VSGA Junior Golf Club Youth and Junior Division member.

At the first VSGA Junior Golf Club event in which each member participates, he/she will receive:

·        A VSGA Junior Golf Club towel.

·        A VSGA Junior Golf Club bag tag.
