Robins Junior Programs
There is a bright future ahead for Robins Junior Programs in 2012. Thousands of youths have been exposed to golf in the first seven years of the camps and clinics. In its first year of programming, Independence Golf Club reached more than 500 youngsters of all ages and skill levels. During the summer of 2011, that number grew to more than 1,500 youths.
The level of instruction offered at Independence Golf Club, coupled with on-course playing opportunities continue to support the club’s mission to foster amateur and junior golf in the commonwealth. The aim is for every child to walk away from clinics and camps with a newfound enthusiasm for golf as well as a deeper understanding and appreciation for its traditions.
As part of the outreach initiatives of the VSGA Foundation, primary purpose is to foster and promote amateur and junior golf within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Students of the game at Independence Golf Club will learn the basic skills and confidence necessary to overcome challenges both on and off the course. Each program focuses on the fundamentals of the sport and encourages youngsters to develop in their commitment to the game as well as all aspects of their lives. The costs for all programs at Independence Golf Club are nominal and scholarships are available to assist those that require financial support.
